Michael Eavis wants Rolling Stones, Dolly Parton and Led Zeppelin for Glastonbury – video

Michael and Emily open the farmhouse doors ahead of the festival

The Rolling Stones, Dolly Parton and Led Zeppelin are the Eavis family’s dream bookings for Glastonbury.

Hosts Michael and Emily reveal this and a whole lot more as they lift the lid on running the festival in NME‘s exclusive video interview, which you can watch by clicking above. “There are still a few left out there,” says Michael of names he has yet to secure.

Throwing the farmhouse doors open in the run up to this weekend’s festival, the father and daughter team reveal everything from their favourite food at the festival to the best ways of getting on and off site.

Remembering when he founded the festival in 1970, Michael says: “[I wanted to] change the world you know, because it was the height of the flower power era and Marc BolanT-Rex – did a fantastic set, and it was one of the best things, even today, very inspiring set, it was. So we never really looked back after that.”

Meanwhile, Emily recommends the upper fields for a camping spot. She says: “Those camping fields are really nice because you’ve kind of got a bit of height, and that perspective on the festival’s really lovely. I personally prefer that to being in front of the Pyramid Stage, which was where I used to camp when I was 14, and it is quite a bit more rowdy.”

Glastonbury takes place this weekend (June 24-26), with headliners U2, Coldplay and Beyonce.
