Boss hails 2008 acts as festival kicks off
Michael Eavis has declared the Glastonbury 2008 line-up the best he’s ever put on at the bash.
The festival chief declared that this year’s event, which kicks off today (June 27), will be a classic one.
“This is going to be a vintage Glastonbury, it really is the best show we’ve ever done,” he declared just ahead of the festival’s start. “The people I’ve spoken to on site already, we’ve got all the ages back.”
Eavis added that, despite the slow sales this year, he was happy with the number of people on site and claimed the festival was close to capacity.
“We’re within a thousand of selling out,” he said. “People have been calling me up from Australia and Brazil yesterday saying ‘If I leave now can I come in?’ Isn’t that great?”
