First bands confirmed for Glastonbury 2007

90s chart stars all set for Worthy Farm

Chumbawamba have become the first band to confirm their Glastonbury Festival slot this year.

The group, best known for their 1997 Number Two hit ‘Tubthumping’, play the Avalon Stage on Friday June 22.

Although many other bands are strongly rumoured to be performing, including Arctic Monkeys and Kasabian, Chumbawumba are the first to confirm their appearance.

However, Emily Eavis has told BBC Somerset that one of her favourite new bands, The View, will most likely be included on the bill.
