Glasvegas drummer Caroline McKay leaves the band

Bandmates say they 'respect her decision' to depart

Glasvegas drummer Caroline McKay has left the group, her bandmates have announced.

Frontman James Allan explained that it had been McKay‘s decision to leave the Glasgow four-piece.

He said that the remaining members were “really sad” about her departure.

“We are really sad that Caroline has decided to leave as she is one of the coolest drummers around,” Allan said. “But we respect her decision and say goodbye with all our love and luck.”

McKay was placed 10th in the NME Cool List 2009.

Glasvegas are currently writing their second album in Los Angeles, and expect to begin recording it soon.
