The track, the first to be taken from new album 'Later…When The TV Turns To Static', is due out on March 25

Glasvegas have announced details of their new single ‘I’d Rather Be Dead (Than Be With You)’.

The track, which is the first to be taken from new album ‘Later…When The TV Turns To Static’, will be released via the band’s own Gow Wow Records on March 25. To coincide with the announcement, the ‘Daddy’s Gone’ group posted a mysterious trailer for the track on YouTube, which you can watch below.

The video is of four static TV screens, a nod to the band’s upcoming third album due out later this year, and is accompanied by a voice over from frontman James Allan.

He says: “Everybody’s departing from something. Going from A to B. Taking something with them, leaving something behind. A journey somewhere. Moving towards something. Moving away from something. Everybody’s carrying something with them. Sometimes it’s good just to let it go.”

Glasvegas are set to release their third album ‘Later…When The TV Turns To Static’ in Summer 2013. The album is the follow-up to 2011’s ‘Euphoric Heartbreak’ and their 2008 self-titled debut record. The band play a charity gig at Glasgow’s King Tut’s Wah Wah Hut on March 27.
