THE BIG CHILL have announced they are to end their most successful year to date with a four day long mini-festival in December.
The Winter Festival 2000 kicks off on Thursday December 7th with a performance from erstwhile Jedi Knights and Global Communications man Tom Middleton and his ‘Electro-acoustic Ensemble’, together with a 40-piece choir. They will be performing choral versions of tracks including ‘Ob Selon Mi Nos’ and ‘12.18’ from Global Communications‘ seminal ambient longplayer ‘76.14’.
The festival continues on the Friday and Saturday night with two consecutive nights at 93 Feet East on Brick Lane in the East End. Blue States and Big Chill founder Pete Lawrence are amongst the DJs. The festival then concludes on Sunday December 10th at the 291 Gallery in Hackney, with an event that combines films in one room, with chill-out DJs in the other. The final day runs 4pm-10.30pm.
Other Big Chill events this year have included the recent week-long event on the Greek island of Naxos, as well as the much celebrated Enchanted Garden event in Wiltshire at the beginning of August.
