Will Gregory composes music for silent film

Goldfrapp keyboardist Will Gregory is set to join the BBC Orchestra for the premiere of his new score to the silent classic ’He Who Gets Slapped’.

Portishead’s Adrian Utley is also set to take part in the performances in Bristol and London.

Gregory described the film as an “overlooked masterpiece”.

Talking about the film’s star, Lon Chaney, Gregory said: “Whenever he is on screen he exudes such presence and charisma that it is easy to see why he was the most celebrated screen actor of his day.”

Goldfrapp are also close to finishing their new album, reports BBC News.

The performance will take place at Bristol‘s Colston Hall (December 1) and London‘s Queen Elizabeth Hall (December 3).
