GOLDIE, Pet Shop Boys and stars from the Big Beat Boutique will headline the Creamfields 99 Festival at the old Liverpool airport site in Speke on August 28.
The 40,000-capacity event runs from 2pm to 6am the next morning and will feature six arenas, playing host to 50 DJs and 20 acts. Arena hosts include Cream, Bugged Out, Big Beat Boutique and Metalheadz. The full line-up will be announced soon. DJs tipped to play include Jon Carter and Lo-Fidelity Allstars.
Cream had planned to host their second festival at the Matterley Estate in Winchester on May 29 but the spot was taken by ex-Cream director Darren Hughes and the Mean Fiddler’s Homelands festival.
A spokeswoman for Cream told NME: “The site we’ve now got looks onto the River Mersey and it’s wicked. The fact that it’s in Liverpool is a really good thing because that’s where Cream is based.” Tickets are available from nme.com‘s 24-hour ticketline on 0870 121 0125 or click here to go to our online gig guide and ticket service.
