GOLDIE and HORACE ANDY top the bill at a new dance festival which launches in DUNDEE this week.
More Five Than Four is a four-day festival of Hiphop, Latin jazz, roots reggae and dance music which incorporates live events, club nights and workshops, kicking off on Thursday (July 19).
The festival is co-promoted by clubs Homeless – which is celebrating five years in the city – and Soundbase, with support from Dundee City Council’s music development initiative, Scottish Arts Council and sponsorship from Fopp Records.
In addition, Radio 1 Session In Scotland will be recording some of the events for broadcast.
Metalheadz featuring Goldie, plus MC Rage is at On Air East on July 19, with Ugly Duckling performing a live set, along with DJ sets fromMC Ty, DJ Pogo the following night.
On July 20, Jazzanova is the key act at the venue with Horace Andy following on the 22nd.
In addition, there are pre-club events with DJs including Nick Peacock of Soma Recordings, Ninja Tunes’ DJ Neotropic.
There will also be discussion panels with participation from some of the artists and DJs involved, including GOLDIE and his agent Andy Duggan, plus workshops in MC, DJ, programming, vocal and band skills, breakdancing, and a showcase of new local talent.
The main club events will be held at the venue On Air East, with other events taking place at Westport Bar, Drouthy Neebors, Stage 2000 Rehearsal Studios, Factory Skatepark and Dundee Contemporary Arts.
