Diesel-U-Music Awards set to be best yet…

They’ve only just clambered onto the ladder of success themselves, but GOLDIE LOOKIN’ CHAIN and Libertines are giving a leg-up to the next generation of talent.

The Welsh rappers are top of the bill at this year’s Diesel-U-Music Awards, to be hosted at London’s Fabric on July 7.

Now in its fourth year, Diesel-U-Music is the country’s biggest talent search. Former discoveries include cut-and-paste hitman DJ Yoda and hotly-tipped dance talent Mylo.

Also confirmed for the Diesel-U-Music Awards this year are live performances from Kasabian, Shystie, The Blueskins, Mylo, Vinyl Dialect, Abeba and Tom Vek as well as DJ sets from Libertines’ Carl Barat, X-Press 2, Tim Westwood, Norman Jay, James Lavelle, Midfield General and Damian Lazarus.

Awards from the seven-month search are awarded in six categories: Dance, Indie-Rock, Electronic, Urban 1 (R&B/Hip-Hop), Urban 2 (Drum’n’Bass) and VJ. The whole thing will be presented by BBC Radio 1’s Edith Bowman and screened on Channel 4 on July 20.
