SPECIAL GUEST COMING FOR THE DARKNESS?

The spandex guests may have a special guest coming to the Carling Weekend - as might Super Furry Animals...

GOLDIE LOOKIN’ CHAIN are threatening to make one but two surprise appearances tonight at the READING leg of the CARLING WEEKEND tonight (August 27).

The Welsh rap collective, who opened the Main Stage today (and featured their own guest star in the shape of NME’s Tim Jonze) are strongly rumoured to be joining Super Furry Animals on the Radio 1 Stage for their co-headline slot. There are also whispers they will follow that by performing a cover of Aerosmith’s ’Walk This Way’ with The Darkness when the rockers headline the Main Stage tonight.

Speaking to NME.COM, GLC’s Eggsy said of the possible SFA collaboration (which is almost certain to be ’Motherfokker’, the track the bands recorded together earlier this year): “You never know. Have a couple of jazz fags, team up with the boys. I’d like to do ’Silver Dream Racer’ by David Essex but I don’t think they know the words.”

As regards The Darkness, Eggsy commented: “I want to do ’Wank This Way’, which is about wanking. I might get onstage and have a wank during their set. That might be quite good. If I was a fan, I’d want to see someone having a wank.”
