Gorillaz’s Lou Reed ‘collaboration’ leaks online

See what Velvet Underground man would look like as a cartoon, plus Murdoc threatens new NME Radio hijack

An original Jamie Hewlett picture marking Lou Reed‘s collaboration with Gorillaz has leaked online.

Although the cartoon version of The Velvet Underground man, pictured, was not sanctioned by the singer, NME.COM understands it is the artist’s take on how Reed would fit into the group’s world.

Reed features on ‘Some Kind Of Nature’ on the band’s third album ‘Plastic Beach’, which is released on March 8.

The image initially leaked on unofficial fan site Gorillaz-unofficial.com.

Meanwhile, the band’s ‘frontman’ Murdoc recently hijacked NME Radio with his own pirate show. Now, the cartoon frontman is threatening to do it again and next time preview tracks from ‘Plastic Beach’.

To tune in, head to Sky Channel 0184, Virgin Media 975, Freesat 727, DAB nationwide or NME.COM/radio.
