Gorillaz man laments chart placing of 'Plastic Beach' album
Gorillaz‘ ‘Plastic Beach’ went to Number Two in the chart in March, losing out to Boyzone‘s album ‘Brother’ – it was released the week of Mother’s Day in the UK – while it also made Number Two in the US Billboard 200 Chart.
Speaking about the chart positions, Albarn told MTV News: “I was a bit fucking gutted that ‘Plastic Beach’ only got to two in America. And I was obviously a bit gutted that it only got to two in England. Against fucking Boyzone!”
He added: “But, at the end of the day, it’s OK. I’ve had a lot of successful Number Twos over the years.”
