Listen to Gorillaz bandmember Murdoc’s ‘Dirty Santa Party’ playlist

The cartoon bassist has uploaded a festive selection to Spotify

Gorillaz bassist Murdoc has uploaded a new playlist to Spotify – entitled ‘Dirty Santa Party’ – just in time for the holiday season – listen to it below.

The cartoon member of the Damon Albarn-created band – full name Murdoc Niccals – has posted a collection of “fresh” Christmas-themed songs, imploring listeners to “enjoy irresponsibly.”

The ‘Dirty Santa Party’ features fairly-unknown Christmas songs by the likes of AC/DC, Snoop Dogg and Tom Waits, as well as traditional seasonal pop favourites by Wizzard, Slade, and The Pogues and Kirsty MacColl.

Listen to the ‘Dirty Santa Party’ below via Spotify, and see an Instagram post from Gorillaz announcing the playlist below.

The run-up to Gorillaz’ highly-anticipated new album – which will be their first studio album since 2011’s ‘The Fall’ – continues with this new playlist, which follows various hints from Albarn and interviews with visual collaborator Jamie Hewlett about the new record, as well as input from the members of Gorillaz’ cartoon band.

Back in October, Murdoc gave an ‘interview’ to Noisey, where he spoke about Brexit, his love for Ringo Starr and how he had been imprisoned by the record label EMI in a cell beneath Abbey Road.
