Gorky’s Zygotic Mynci have postponed their UK tour after guest guitarist NORMAN BLAKE had to return home when his daughter was hospitalised.
Teenage Fanclub‘s Blake was set join Gorky‘s on their UK tour, which started last night (May 21) at Glasgow Art School.
However, on Sunday his three-year-old daughter Rowan was hospitalised after breaking her leg in a fall. As a result, Blake decided to spend time at home to be with her and the tour was postponed.
The affected dates are at Leeds City Varieties Theatre tonight (May 22), Manchester University MDH (23), Bristol New Trinity Centre (25) and London Union Chapel (26).
A spokesperson for the band said the tour is being rescheduled for July and new dates will be announced later this week. Original tickets will be valid for the rearranged dates, or refunds are available from the point of purchase.
Gorky‘s are confirmed to make an appearance at the Carling Weekend Festival in Reading and Leeds on August 25-28. The band are also working on a mini-album, which is slated for a November release.
