Gossip singer Beth Ditto has told NME.COM that doctors have diagnosed her with having Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder.
The frontwoman, who is set to take to the stage at the Reading And Leeds Festivals this weekend (August 28-30), says friends have long told her they thought she suffered from the disorder – though she never believed them.
“I thought they were just joking,” Ditto said in an interview you can read in full in the latest issue of NME (out nationwide now). “I guess it kind of explains a lot about the way I am.”
Elsewhere in the interview, she revealed how Rick Ruben, who produced Gossip‘s latest album ‘Music For Men’, forced her to go through her lyrics for the album with a fine-tooth comb before allowing them to feature on the record. “I feel like the worst lyricist of all time,” she explained.
NME.COM will be coming live from both the Reading And Leeds Festivals sites this weekend (August 28-30). Stay tuned to NME.COM/festivals for news reports, blogs, video interviews and photos from the event.
