In the vibrant video, the Thai-born K-pop singer-rapper performs the upbeat trap-infused pop song on various fantastical set pieces. These include a giant chess board in the middle of a sprawling garden, a miniature room filled with pink boxes (a nod to The Grand Budapest Hotel) and a stairway to nowhere.
“See a better version of my side / I’m like a feather now, I feel so light / Whatever you want, want, I’ll give you everything for sure/ I’m ribbon,” BamBam sings on the uplifting chorus.
‘riBBon’ is the title track of the singer’s debut mini-album of the same name, which dropped alongside the single. The project will mark BamBam’s official debut as a soloist, as well as his first release under his new label Abyss Company, following his departure from JYP Entertainment in January.
BamBam’s ‘riBBon’ mini-album includes a total of six songs. The singer co-wrote a majority of the project, with the exception of opening track ‘Intro’, and collaborated with hitmakers such as earattack and Murda Beatz.
In a previous interview with Allure Korea, BamBam shared that he is currently focused on carrying out solo activities in South Korea first. The singer said that he wishes to be “properly recognised” in the East Asian country first before expanding overseas.
The singer also reflected on the difference in reception in both Korea and his home country of Thailand. “I can walk around [in Korea] with ease,” he noted, before adding that he “ can’t do anything in Thailand. Not even go outside the hotel.”
