Singer and actress signs deal with Gallery Books to tell her story in Autumn 2014
Grace Jones is to release her official memoirs in 2014, it has been confirmed.
The singer and actress has signed a deal with Gallery Books, an imprint of Simon & Schuster, to release the book in autumn of next year. The book is currently untitled. Jones famously claimed she would “never write my memoirs” in the song ‘Art Groupie’ but has not said she needs to write the book or “someone else would”.
Gallery Books says the 65-year-old planned to share stories from her time spent at Studio 54 as well as living with Jerry Hall during her model days, collaborating with Andy Warhol and acting with Arnold Schwarzenegger in Conan The Destroyer.
Earlier this year, Lady Gaga posted a picture of herself with Grace Jones online. The two singers met up alongside leading hat designer Philip Treacy. The image was posted to Lady Gaga’s Little Monsters website ahead of the release of her new studio album ‘ARTPOP’.
Grace Jones’ most high-profile performance recently came when she played ‘Slave To The Rhythm’ while hula-hooping at the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Concert at Buckingham Palace in June 2012.
