And who's to blame? Elliott Smith, that's who...

Grandaddy have cancelled their forthcoming UK tour – and it’s all down to Elliott Smith.

Smith has personally requested the band as support act for his coinciding US dates in October, and as long-time fans, they felt they could not refuse.

Only two of the dates have so far been rescheduled. They will now play Brighton Concorde on November 29 and London Shepherd’s Bush Empire on November 30. Tickets for the original shows can be used at these dates, while tickets for all cancelled dates can be refunded at the point of purchase. The band will return for a full tour early next year.

Meanwhile, Grandaddy’s label V2 have confirmed that ‘He’s Simple, He’s Dumb, He’s The Pilot’ from current album ‘The Sophtware Slump’ will be released as a limited-edition single in early November.
