'Respect Grandma and Grandpa,' says the hip-hop legend

Grandmaster Flash has been accidentally tagged in numerous Facebook status updates by grandmas.

The auto-fill function has seen a significant amount of grandmothers mistakenly signing off as the hip-hop pioneer on the social networking site, with the Love, Grampa and Grandmaster Flash blog posting a host of the accidental updates.

Grandmaster Flash has commented on the phenomenon on his Facebook page, writing: “It’s true I get a lot of posts from Grandmas. Hilarious now I know why — Respect Grandma and Grandpa. P.S. This is Hip Hop!”

Grandmaster Flash was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2007 alongside his group The Furious Five. They are best known for 1982’s ‘The Message’. A pioneering turntablist, the New York artist is one of the most respected figures in the world of hip-hop.
