Pop-punk trio will headline London's O2 Shepherds Bush Empire later this week
Green Day have announced a very intimate UK show for later this week.
The pop-punk trio will headline London’s O2 Shepherds Bush Empire on Thursday (August 23), their first UK show since June 2010. Tickets will go onsale to members of Green Day’s fan club tomorrow (August 21) at 9am (BST) and on general sale from midday. For full details, visit Greenday.com.
The band are touring Europe throughout August and will play France’s Rock En Seine, three German shows and a headline slot at I-Day festival in Bologna, Italy as part of the run of shows.
The tour is in support of the band’s new album-trilogy ‘¡Uno!, ¡Dos!, ¡Tré!’, which will be released in three stages. The first album ‘¡Uno!’ comes out on September 24, with the second LP ‘¡Dos!’ coming out on November 12 and ‘¡Tré!’ on January 14, 2013.
To coincide with the release of ‘¡Uno!, ¡Dos!, ¡Tré!’, the band will also put out two documentaries. One is being made by Tim Lynch, a producer of the band’s recent DVD Green Day: Bullet In A Bible and Tim Wheeler, a co-producer and editor of The White Stripes: Under Great White Northern Lights and will focus on the making of the three albums. A second documentary is being created from vintage footage from the band’s pre-‘Dookie’ days.
