Green Day unveil artwork for final part of ‘¡Uno! ¡Dos! ¡Tré!’ album trilogy

The cover of '¡Tré!' features a picture of the band's drummer Tré Cool

Green Day have unveiled the artwork for ‘¡Tré!’, the final part of their ‘¡Uno! ¡Dos! ¡Tré!’ album trilogy.

The new cover is similar to the two already released covers for ‘¡Uno!’ and ‘¡Dos!’ but instead of frontman Billie Joe Armstrong or bassist Mike Dirnt, it features the band’s drummer Tré Cool with his eyes crossed out, against a blue background. Like the previous two covers, the artwork debuted via a YouTube clip. You can watch the video by scrolling down and clicking.

‘¡Uno! ¡Dos! ¡Tré!’ will be released in three stages, with the first album ‘¡Uno!’ coming out on September 24. The second LP ‘¡Dos!’ comes out on November 12 and finally, ‘¡Tré!’ will be released on January 14 2013. All of the albums are available to pre-order now from the band’s official website Greenday.com.

Yesterday Green Day announced the tracklisting for ‘¡Uno!’. The record contains a total of 12 tracks, including ‘Carpe Diem’, which has been aired live a number of times, as well as the LP’s first single ‘Oh Love’, which is the album’s closing track and will premiere on July 16.

Speaking to Rolling Stone, Billie Joe Armstrong explained that the first album will be ‘power pop’. He said of the band’s musical direction: “We wanted something punchier, more power pop – somewhere between AC/DC and the early Beatles.”

Green Day will play headline shows at Japan’s Summer Sonic festival and France’s Rock En Seine in August and a headline slot at I-Day festival in Bologna, Italy on September 2 as well as three shows in Germany in late August.
