A whole hoard of iconic films feature in the video, which has gone viral
Green Day‘s ‘Basket Case’ is the latest track to get The Unusual Suspect treatment in a new viral video.
Following his epic edit of Linkin Park’s ‘In The End’, The Unusual Suspect is back, this time turning his hand to Green Day’s 1994 hit.
Using clips from 109 movies, which have been edited to ‘sing’ along to the song, the clip has now gone viral.
It features lines from classic movies such as Star Wars, Gladiator and Harry Potter. Even Disney movies Alice In Wonderland, Finding Nemo and Pinocchio feature.
A clip of Green Day’s cameo in The Simpsons has also been used in the clip. See how many more famous movies you can spot below:
Last month, Green Day hinted that they are recording new music, with frontman Billie Joe Armstrong uploading a picture from the studio.
After dropping a surprise festive single called ‘Xmas Time of the Year’ at the end of last year, Armstrong took to his official Instagram account to post a picture of himself behind a microphone.
Back in April 2015, long-time producer Rob Cavallo said that the band had been back in the studio and had recorded five tracks.
“Let me tell you, they were just fantastic. He is absolutely at the top of his game,” Cavallo said of Armstrong’s work. “Fans can be sure that when they do return, the music will be amazing.”
Green Day were also inducted into the Rock ‘n’ Roll Hall of Fame last April, 25 years since their first studio album ’39/Smooth’ was released.
