The band hit the road to showcase their 'American Idiot' album...

GREEN DAY have announced they will spend the autumn on the road in the US.

The October and November dates will be the band’s first major tour since 2000’s ’Warning’ jaunt.

The northern California outfit will be playing material from their new rock opera ’American Idiot’, but unlike their recent dates where they played the album front to back, Green Day will be calling upon material from their back catalogue.

New Found Glory and Sugarcult will be joining the tour as support.
