Claire Boucher endorses Bernie Sanders and goes up against Guns N' Roses in California
Claire Boucher went up against Guns N’ Roses latest ‘original line up’ show in a set clash in California, performing with Monae for ‘Venus Fly’, and also bringing out Aristophanes to pair up on ‘Scream’. The set featured a selection of tracks from both 2015’s ‘Art Angels’ and 2012’s ‘Visions’.
The Canadian also used the opportunity to endorse democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders by flashing up his image at the back of the stage. Sanders had earlier introduced Run The Jewels at the festival, and will host his own festival-linked event, ‘Berniechella Block Party‘ ahead of the second weekend in Indio.
The entire first weekend of the festival is being streamed via YouTube.

Boucher told Rolling Stone “I’ve been in numerous situations where male producers would literally be like, ‘We won’t finish the song unless you come back to my hotel room.'”
“If I was younger or in a more financially desperate situation, maybe I would have done that. I don’t think there are few female producers because women aren’t interested. It’s difficult for women to get in. It’s a pretty hostile environment.”
