Grimes‘s Claire Boucher is set to put on her first art show in New York’s East Village later this month.
The electronic artist will display her drawings and paintings as well as art from other Canadian artists, reports Pitchfork.
The show, entitled simply Grimes, will take place at the Audio Visual Arts gallery. Curated by Boucher, it will run from March 23-25. Similar shows are planned for London, Vancouver and Montreal.
Grimes will also play New York’s Mercury Lounge and Glasslands Gallery on March 23 and 24 after heading to South by Southwest in Austin, Texas next week for a string of shows.
Grimes releases her brand new album ‘Visions’ on March 12 through 4AD. Her fourth album in two years, it follows 2010’s ‘Geidi Primes’ and ‘Halfaxa’, and 2011’s ‘Darkbloom’. Speaking about ‘Visions’, Boucher has said:
The creative process is a quest for the ultimate sensual, mystical and cathartic experience and the vehicle for my psychic purging. ‘Visions’ was conceived in a period of self-imposed cloistering during which time I did not see daylight.
