Grimes teases new music and collaboration with Poppy

Grimes shared a snap to her Instagram

Grimes has hinted at a collaboration with YouTube sensation Poppy.

Poppy is the stage persona of 23-year-old Moriah Pereira, who rose to fame through her unique style of videos – one of her most famous clips is 10 minutes of her saying “I’m Poppy”.

She released her debut album ‘Poppy.Computer’ in October 2017 and embarked on a tour in support of the record.


Grimes has now teased at a collaboration with Poppy in a new Instagram post, which you can see below.

Grimes has been teasing new music for the past few months, previously calling 4AD a “shit label” but later apologising for the comment.

Most recently, she replied to a fan on Instagram, giving an update on her “highly collaborative” new album., writing:

“I think now I’m screwing my head back on. Can finish [the album] fast and I have a deep well of shit this time, like sooooo many songs so after my album I’ll be able to consistently release more music.”


She also appears on Janelle Monáe’s new album, Dirty Computer, teaming up with Monáe on the single ‘PYNK’.

Writing about the collaboration on Instagram, Grimes wrote: “abt a yr ago janelle played me like 20 songs and asked me which one was my fave and i was like ‘def pynk’ which was the right answer {phew} cuz she wanted some harmonies &vibes on it. as per usual feeling blessed to b in the presence of greatness”
