Gruff Rhys collaborator readies debut release

Cate Le Bon’s double A-side comes out this month

Welsh songstress Cate Le Bon has announced the release of her double A-side debut single ‘No One Can Drag Me Down/Disappear’

Taken from her forthcoming album ‘Pet Deaths’, Le Bon worked alongside Gorky’s Zygotic Mynci’s Megan Childs, who contributed viloin, and Super Furry Animals and The Thrills collaborator John Thomas, who added pedal steel.

Described by Gruff Rhys as “Bobbie Gentry and Nico fight over a Casio keyboard; melody wins!”, Le Bon recently recorded vocals for a duet with Rhys on his forthcoming concept project with American electronic maestro Boom Bip, which is set to be released this summer.


Le Bon is set to open for Rhys on his forthcoming UK tour, kicking off April 19 in Treorchy, Wales.

‘No One Can Drag Me Down/Disappear will be released as a free download on Le Bon’s website on April 23.
