Unique tour will include film screening, book discussion, DJ set and live show
Gruff Rhys will lead festival-goers on a unique tour of Glastonbury this summer.
The Glastonbury tour comes in support of Rhys’ ‘American Interior’ project – which included a 13-song album plus a book, a film directed by Dylan Goch documenting Rhys’ 2012 tour and an app.
The multimedia tour of the festival, which takes place between June 25-29, is the first of its kind. Taking fans across all platforms of his latest release ‘American Interior’, Rhys will host a screening of the film in the Cinema Tent, a discussion about the book on the Free University stage, a DJ set in the Stonebridge tent and a late night gig in the Crow’s Nest.
Although it is not uncommon for artists to play multiple gigs at Glastonbury, this tour will be the first to cross over so many platforms. Stage times and performance dates will be announced closer to the event.
Rhys will also perform a one-off ‘American Interior’ gig in London on September 20. Tickets for the Queen Elizabeth Hall gig go on sale tomorrow (May 20) at 9am. Rhys plays a number of festival dates in the UK this summer including Indie Tracks, Hay and End of the Road.
