Gucci Mane arrested day after being released from jail

Rapper back behind bars for a probation violation

Gucci Mane has reportedly been re-arrested one day after being released from prison.

The rapper was last night (April 13) back behind bars for a probation violation exactly one day after being bailed from jail, reports US gossip website TMZ.

Mane – real name Radric Davis – was jailed last month (March 26) on a charge of charge of aggravated assault with a weapon, after being accused of hitting a soldier, named James Lettley, on the head with a champagne bottle.

Lettley claimed that he had asked a security guard in the VIP section of the Harlem Nights establishment if he could take a photograph with the rapper when the incident happened. “I was speaking to the security guard, and Gucci Mane hit me in the head with a bottle,” he said. “And as I looked at him in the shock of why, one of his friends hit me in the side of my face.”

He added: “That is dangerous because if there was to be any other fan trying to approach him, ain’t no telling what else he might do to them. He could have possibly killed me. I just hope and pray that I recover pretty well because I still want to serve my military career.”

Last month, Gucci Mane announced his intentions to change his name to Guwop – but abandoned the plan 30 minutes later after being subjected to abuse from his Twitter followers.
