Guns N’ Roses give setlist hints as their UK and Ireland tour kicks off tonight (May 17)

Axl Rose and co have been covering Paul McCartney, AC/DC and Frank Sinatra in recent gigs

Guns N’ Roses kick off their UK and Ireland tour tonight (May 17) at Dublin’s O2 Arena and have given plenty of hints about what you can expect from the setlist.

The band played two shows in Moscow over the weekend and played largely the same set at both shows. The band’s most recent show featured 23-songs, with classics ‘Sweet Child O’ Mine’, ‘Paradise City’, ‘Mr Brownstone’ and ‘November Rain’ all included.

As well as this, the band have been covering Paul McCartney‘s ‘Live And Let Die’, AC/DC‘s ‘Whole Lotta Rosie’ and have been ending their sets with Frank Sinatra’s ‘My Way’. They have also been arriving onstage to the sounds of Massive Attack‘s ‘Splitting The Atom’.

The band have also been peppering their set with instrumental breaks, with the group’s guitarists bringing out their own take on Pink Floyd’s ‘Another Brick In The Wall’ and The Who’s ‘Baba O’Reilly’ as part of that.

Frontman Axl Rose might be a little static too, after he tweeted a picture of his heavily bruised leg which he sustained during the band’s Moscow shows. Writing on Rose, he said: “Can you say HemaToma?”.

To read a full report of tonight’s set, check back to NME.COM later this evening. The band are due on at 9.15pm (GMT), but were two hours late onstage in Moscow, so that will almost certainly change.
