Axl Rose has made reference to Guns N’ Roses‘ rumoured classic line-up reunion in a New Year’s tweet, though his obtuse acknowledgement does little to confirm or deny the rumours.
Rumours of both Guns N’ Roses and LCD Soundsystem (later confirmed) reforming for American festival Coachella emerged in late December, with Guns also rumoured to be setting up a 25-date stadium gig, and to be playing at Reading and Leeds Festivals.
The stadium gigs are expected to take place in North America, with Billboard sources saying that the band are asking for as much as $3 (£2m) million per show and tickets could cost up to $275 (£186).
The Californian festival has a history of coaxing acts out of retirement, after previously hosting the reunions of Rage Against The Machine in 2007, My Bloody Valentine in 2009, Pulp in 2012 and Outkast in 2014. Rumours of headline sets at two UK festivals in 2017 have also been doing the rounds.
