Founding Guns N’ Roses members Slash and Duff McKagan have reunited to perform a cover version of AC/DC’s ‘Highway To Hell’.

The pair joined forces at a charity concert in California last weekend (September 12). As reported by Blabbermouth, the show was to raise money for the Wonderland Avenue School in Los Angeles.

Slash and McKagan were joined onstage by their former Velvet Revolver bandmate Dave Kushner, Apocalyptica singer Franky Perez and drummer Bill Burr.

Following a long-term dispute, Slash recently revealed that he was back on good terms with Guns N’ Roses frontman Axl Rose.

Speaking with Swedish TV station Aftonbladet TV, Slash talked about how the relationship had recovered, and how the pair have put bad feelings behind them: “It was probably way overdue, you know. It’s very cool at this point… dispel some of that negative stuff that was going on for so long.”

Guns N’ Roses have been in a tailspin recently, with DJ Ashba and Bumblefoot both leaving the band in recent months. Slash’s new attitude shows a thawing of relations which reached a low with Rose’s infamous 2009 comment, that Slash is a “cancer”. Slash had previously said that Rose makes the band seem “like a dictatorship”.

Meanwhile, Slash’s brother Ash Hudson recently issued an apology to Axl Rose for calling him a “fat bastard”.

Hudson made the comment on Facebook, in a post criticising the idea of Guns N’ Roses having a ‘classic’ reunion.

He said that fans should enjoy what Guns N’ Roses had made and “move on”, writing, “It’s all so dumb to me… Get a life. If I get one more fucker asking me, ‘Will Guns do a reunion tour?’, I’m blocking them. Axl is a fat bastard and the reunion would only be a disappointment and an action that would result in criticism.”

After the media reported on his comments, Hudson responded by writing, “I apologise to Axl and his legions of fans who were offended by my post of yesterday. I am sorry I shot my mouth off. I know, or should know, better than to get involved in GN’R business.

“It has come to my attention that Axl is on a strict diet and losing weight. Unfortunately, my post was very offensive and upsetting to my brother, for which I apologise. To the rest of the world, I had one of these days when people kept asking me about a possible reunion and I had had enough… Again, my apologies.”
