Axl Rose claims the the band have finished recording the follow-up to 'Chinese Democracy'
Guns N’ Roses frontman Axl Rose has claimed the band have two new albums almost ready for release.
Rose says that the band have finished recording a follow-up to 2008 album ‘Chinese Democracy’, and also confirmed the existence of a ‘Chinese Democracy’ remix album.
“We recorded a lot of things before ‘Chinese…’ was out,” said the singer in an interview with Revolver. “We’ve worked more on some of those things and we’ve written a few new things. But basically, we have what I call kind of the second half of ‘Chinese…’. That’s already recorded. [The remix album has] been done for a while, too.”
In May, a source from within the band’s camp said that recent talk the band is planning to retire is “bullshit” and that the band having clear calendars is nothing new when they are on a break, giving them time to pursue other projects.
Bassist Tommy Stinson played some reunion dates with The Replacements earlier this year, and will potentially rejoin them later this year. Richard Fortus and Dizzy Reed will also have the opportunity to work with The Dead Daisies and guitarist Ron ‘Bumblefoot’ Thal often works on solo material.
The band are set to release a 3D concert film entitled Appetite For Democracy 3D: Live from the Hard Rock Casino – Las Vegas. The movie will be released on July 1 via Blu-ray and DVD. It was filmed on November 21, 2012 whilst the band were playing the Hard Rock Casino in Las Vegas
