Gwen Stefani gets restraining order against obsessed fan

Man threatened to kill himself because he found pictures of the No Doubt singer tripping-over upsetting

Gwen Stefani has taken out a protective order against an obsessed fan.

According to TMZ, the singer has taken out a three year restraining order against fan Richard Portnoy.

Portnoy recently threatened to kill himself because he found pictures of the singer tripping over upsetting. He also showed up at her acupuncturist’s office so he could catch her walking inside.

According to Stefani, she has been subjected to ongoing attention from the man who is reportedly very wealthy and lives inside a gated community and drives various expensive cars including a Porsche and a Mercedes.

He has shown up at the singer’s home on numerous occasions with gifts including flowers, cards, candy and letters. As reported by TMZ, the singer’s testimony included details of a letter sent to her by Portnoy “saying he had concluded she was not happy with her present life and he felt he could change that.”

He also, “showed up at Gwen’s doorstep, saw her dad and told him he had seen photos of her tripping, adding, if she was hurt, he didn’t know if he could go on living.”

Stefani was among the guest vocalists featured on Calvin Harris’ album ‘Motion’ released at the end of last year.

The singer joined Haim, rapper Big Sean, Ellie Goulding and Theo Hutchcraft of Hurts on the album.
