Haim and Palma Violets lead the pack in NME’s Stars Of 2013 issue

Other acts tipped for success include Savages, Peace and Deap Vally

Haim and Palma Violets head the list of hot new acts in NME‘s Stars Of 2013 issue.

Both bands are preparing to release eagerly-anticipated debut albums this year. London four-piece Palma Violets recently announced that their maiden effort, titled ‘180’, will be coming out on February 25 on Rough Trade.

LA trio Haim are still working on their own debut album with producers Paul Epworth and James Ford from Simian Mobile Disco. The LP, which does not have a title yet, is due out sometime in late spring.

Discussing the band’s growing popularity in the UK, bassist Este told NME: “It’s actually kind of crazy. Because I remember being a freshman in high school and seeing The Strokes on the cover of NME. And being like, ‘One day…'”

Other bands tipped for success in NME‘s Stars Of 2013 issue include Savages, Peace, Joey Bada$$’ Beast Coast collective, Deap Valley and Jagwar Ma. Pick up a copy digitally or on newstands from today (January 2).
