Happy Mondays are to play this year’s GLASTONBURY FESTIVAL, and will do a warm-up show at the LEEDS T&C in the week prior to the event, nme.com can exclusively reveal.

The Mondays will be third on the bill, below Embrace and David Bowie on the Pyramid Stage on the last day of the festival (June 25).

It remains unclear whether Bez, who is still in the process of recovering from a serious motorcycle accident, will be fit enough to perform a full set with the band at Glastonbury.

A source close to the band told nme.com: “He may not be well enough to do the whole set, but he’ll be with us. He’s as strong as an Ox, but there is no pressure on him. He’ll be around, and to be honest, we wouldn’t want to do it without him.”

To warm-up for their Glastonbury performance, the band will play a low-key warm-up date at the Leeds Town & Country Club on June 22. Tickets go on sale from tomorrow (May 12) via SJM Concerts website [url=]www.gigsandtours.com, and from the venue Box Office the next day (May 13), priced #18.50.

Happy Mondays have also been confirmed as the support to Oasis on their stadium tour of the UK and Ireland this summer, calling at Dublin Lansdowne Road (July 8), Bolton Reebok Stadium (July 15-16), London Wembley Stadium (July 21-22) and Edinburgh Murrayfield Stadium (July 29).
