Crowd take it out on Happy Mondays man after 'TBC' turns out not to be Jordan's ex
Many fans turned up at the Nissan Juke Arena expecting to see Jordan‘s ex after spotting a “TBC” in the stage’s schedule.
“This isn’t a Happy Mondays‘ gig, this is SWR,” he told the bemused crowd as he took the stage, causing the crowd to loudly chant: “Who are you?”
Aware of his prickly reception, including boos and a few bottles thrown in his direction, Ryder asked the crowd: “Are my ears fucked or are you shouting New Order?”
A stream of fans left the tent the moment SWR kicked off with ‘Kinky Afro’.
Despite the confusion and crowd unrest during the slot, Ryder proceeded to play a greatest hits set from across his career, including ‘Reverend Black Grape’ and ‘Hallelujah’, plus a couple of new SWR songs.
Later, visibly not happy with the reaction, Ryder declared one of the crowd was “a fucking knob” only to greeted with more of the audience making the wanker sign at him.
However a storming rendition of ‘Step On’ seemed to heal the wounds at least temporarily, after which Ryder left the stage.
Andre is in fact on the other half of the bill, and played the Stafford site earlier today.
