The Happy Mondays man is celebrating after reality TV win...

Former HAPPY MONDAYS dancer BEZ has defied the odds, and his own demons, to win ‘CELEBRITY BIG BROTHER’.

Manchester’s most celebrated maraca player bagged a decisive 54 per cent of the public vote to win the third series of the reality show on Sunday night (January 23).

Shouting “Yeah man I’m coming at ya!” as he emerged from the ‘Big Brother’ house, the 40 year-old beat bookies’ favourite and Blazin’ Squad member Kenzie into second place and Sly Stallone’s former missus Brigitte Nielsen into third as he claimed the £50,000 prize money.

Interviewed by host Davina McCall after his release, Bez, who had previously declared he was only doing the programme for the money, explained that living in a televisual goldfish bowl had been good for him.

“I enjoyed myself in there. I had a really good time and met good people,” he said. “I was in a great deal of trouble, now I’ve bailed out and I’m forever grateful.”

During the show, which raised £250,000 for charity, Bez attempted a half-hearted escape and lost his temper on several occasions which he put down to “missing my weed”.
