The band equal the record set by Tom Jones for consecutive nights at the Cardiff International Arena...

HEAR’SAY have added a seventh show to their string of sold-out CARDIFF INTERNATIONAL ARENA dates in August – matching a record set by TOM JONES.

The band are to play a special matinee show on the afternoon of Saturday, August 25. A matinee slot had already been added for the following day, August 26, after the more traditional run of evening shows on August 25, 26, 27, 28 and 29 sold out in days.

The band’s spokesperson William Rice said: “Everywhere the group is playing on tour has added extra dates to cope with demand. But Cardiff has been bigger than anywhere else.”

Local boy Noel Sullivan told This Morning TV presenter Fern Britton that he was “well chuffed” with the response to Cardiff sales during an appearance by the band on the show today (June 22), during which they performed their cover version of Earth Wind And Fire’s ‘Boogie Wonderland’, a B-side of current single ‘The Way To Your Love’.

Tickets for the seventh Hear’Say show go on sale tomorrow (June 23) at £20.

Steps, meanwhile, are also jumping onto the matinee bandwagon. They have announced an extra Cardiff CIA show at 2.30pm on December 16. Tickets for this gig also go on sale tomorrow, priced £21.

In other Hear’Say news, the band are reported to have a Saturday evening entertainment show lined up for ITV in the autumn.
