The judges are too critical too...

HEAR’SAY‘s NOEL SULLIVAN has launched a bitter assault on the follow-up to the ‘POPSTARS’ series that took him to fame.

He described ‘Pop Idol’ as “contrived”, and condemned the judges for being too critical. He told his local paper, the South Wales Echo: “I have only seen half an episode of ‘Pop Idol’ because we’ve been so busy, but I don’t like the way the judges slag people off.

“They are stepping on their dreams and could put them off at their first

audition. That type of show has become really contrived anyway. They are trying to make Simon Cowell the new Nasty Nigel – but there’ll only ever be one of him.”

Noel said he had been rooting for ‘Pop Idol’ contestant Craig Thomas, who also hails from Cardiff. He added: “I know Craig from the ‘Popstars’ auditions and wish him the best of luck.”
