HEAR’SAY TO TAKE TO THE FIELDS?

The band's Danny tells NME.COM that they'd like to follow in the footsteps of Daphne & Celeste...

HEAR’SAY claim they want to play this year’s UK summer festivals.

Speaking to NME.COM, Danny from the band was unfazed by the prospect of an anti-Hear’say festival audience. Pop act Daphne & Celeste were bottled off when they played at Reading last year, and the group manufactured by the ‘Popstars’ TV show could face a similar crowd reaction.

But Danny told NME.COM: “It would be really nice for us to play festivals this year. We’re concentrating on rehearsing for our arena tour at the moment and I believe we might be doing a few university gigs, but festivals would be really good too.”

The Hear’say member also responded to Kelly Jones’ recent comments about the group. As reported on NME.COM last week, Jones said of Hear’say: “They come across like a bunch of cocks – all walking around in parkas and big fuckin’ sunglasses like they’re fuckin’ rock stars.”

“We wear parkas to keep ourselves warm,” Danny responded. “We aren’t trying to be cocky or flash, we are just concentrating on what we’re doing. They should concentrate on what they’re doing.”

He added: “I don’t think it’s jealousy on their part. We are in two different genres.”
