The Popstars are back on top in the singles chart, proving they're more than a one-hit wonder, while Basement Jaxx score a Top 10 hit with their new album...

As predicted, HEAR’SAY have snatched the Number One slot in the UK singles chart from MYA, PINK, CHRISTINA AGUILERA and LIL’ KIM, with their second single ‘Show Me The Way To Your Love’ following its predecessor straight to the top of the charts, and knocking ‘Lady Marmalade’ down to Two.

The second highest new entry in today’s chart (July 1) was Usher, whose ‘U Remind Me’ went in at Three, with Gorillaz following at Six with ’19-2000′ and Dane Bowers winding up the Top 10 new entries at Nine with ‘Another Lover’.

Other new entries in the Top 40 this week came from Backstreet Boys, who went in at 12 with ‘More Than That’, ‘Backyard Dog with ‘Baddest Ruffest’ at 15, and The Strokes at 16 with ‘New York City Cops/Hard To Explain’.

The remaining Top 40 new entries were from Offspring at 21 with ‘Million Miles Away’, James at 22 with ‘Getting Away With It’, Static Revenger at 23 with ‘Happy People’ and Delerium ft. leigh Nash at 32 with ‘Innocente’.

There was no movement at the top of the album charts, with Travis holding strong at Number One for another week with ‘The Invisible Band’. The highest new entry was for Basement Jaxx at Number Five with ‘Rooty’, and Marti Pellow at Seven with solo comeback ‘Smile’. The week’s other new entries came from Specials with their eponymous collection at 22, Carole King at 24 with ‘Tapestry’ and Lisa Stansfield at 38 with ‘Face Up’.
