But 'The Way To Your Love' has some way to go before it can match the sales of 'Pure And Simple'...

HEAR’SAY look set to claim their second consecutive number one in the UK singles charts this coming Sunday (July 1).

The made for TV five-piece will knock the cover of ‘Lady Marmalade’, featuring Christina Aguilera, Lil’ Kim, Mya, Pink off the peak if the first day’s sales are repeated throughout the week. However, with just under 16,200 copies of ‘The Way To Your Love’ sold the figures are just a fraction of 160,000 ‘Pure & Simple’ shifted during their first day on sale in March.

Other new entries on the top ten are expected to come from Usher, whose ‘U Remind Me’ is at Three, Gorillaz with ’19/2000′ at Six, Dane Bowers with ‘Another Lover’ at Eight, former NME cover stars The Strokes at Nine with ‘Hard To Explain’ and the Backstreet Boys one place behind with ‘More Than That’ at Ten.

Backyard Dog with ‘Baddest Ruffest’ at 14 and former indie princes James at 17 with comeback single ‘Getting Away With It (All Messed Up)’ are the only other new names on the Top 20.

In the album charts, Travis maintain the top spot with ‘The Invisible Band’, selling almost half as many as D:12, who maintain the Number Two spot with ‘Devil’s Night’. Basement Jaxx return ‘Rooty’ is currently in at Number Three, well ahead of the only other new entry on the ten Marti Pellow with ‘Smile’ at Nine.

Chart experts are predicting a slow week of sales as the hot weather rarely encourages high levels of record buying.
