Hear'say's curtain call comes a little early at London's G.A.Y. club night...

Hear’say took to the stage at the G.A.Y. club night at around 1.30am, but their entrance lost some of its impact when, during G.A.Y. founder Jeremy Joseph’s introduction, the safety curtain was raised early, revealing another white curtain with the band’s silhouettes stretched across it. Then, during the opening bars of ‘Pure And Simple’, the safety curtain began lowering again. After a few excruciating seconds the music stopped, the safety curtain raised again, and the show began in earnest.

Naturally, the performance – which consisted of ‘Pure And Simple’, ‘Show Me The Way To Your Love’, ‘One’, ‘Bridge Over Troubled Water’ and (as is customary at such shows) a repeat performance of ‘Pure And Simple’ – was filmed for ITV’s ‘Popstars’, which goes live across the nation next Sunday (March 18) when the single charts.

After the show, Jeremy Joseph reappeared with flowers for each band member, before demanding a group hug.

Chart experts believe that ‘Pure And Simple’, released tomorrow, is likely to enter the Top 40.
