NINJA TUNE have announced that they are to launch an international, monthly club entitled XEN in eight cities around Europe, NME.COM can reveal.
The first event will take place at The Batofour in Paris on March 15, and then at the same venue on the first Thursday of every month thereafter.
This will be followed by the first London date on March 29 at the recently opened Cargo club, and will feature DJ sets from Coldcut, Luke Vibert, Ty and Ollie Teeba from The Herbaliser. The event will then take place on the final Thursday of each month at the same venue.
Ninja Tune have also still to announce full details of bi-monthly residencies for Xen in Berlin, Cologne, Oslo, Stockholm, Lisbon and Barcelona.
These events will be the label’s first regular club nights since the Funkungfusion nights which ran from April to December 1998 in London’s 333 Club. A spokesperson for the label told NME.COM that Coldcut will be performing special, customised sets that will include both VJing and on-the-spot remixing of classic tracks.
