Here’s Metallica’s Lars Ulrich singing Judas Priest

The drummer took the lead on a song by the band in rehearsals

Metallica have shared a new piece of footage from a 2018 rehearsal of Lars Ulrich singing Judas Priest.

The drummer can be seen instructing his bandmates to play the heavy metal band’s ‘Delivering The Goods’ in the clip, which was filmed on October 18, 2018, before the group played in Pittsburgh.

The video shows Ulrich taking to the mic while drumming, delivering a couple of verses in a low, guttural tone. You can watch the footage below.

The drummer revealed last week (January 19) that he was “stunned” by Miley Cyrus’ performance at the recent Chris Cornell tribute show, I Am The Highway. The pop star and Metallica both showed up to perform at the star-studded concert held in Cornell’s memory.

“Still stunned by your next level version of “Say Hello 2 Heaven” for Chris! Beyond inspiring…” Ulrich captioned a photo of him and Cyrus three days after the show was held.

The LA concert also saw Cornell’s old bands Soundgarden, Temple Of The Dog, and Audioslave perform for the first time since the musician’s death in May 2017. While all were helped out by celebrity guests, the latter were joined by Foo Fighters’ Dave Grohl and Metallica’s Robert Trujillo for a version of ‘Show Me How To Live’.

Meanwhile, last year, Ulrich discussed Metallica’s lack of retirement plans. “A lot of people are retiring, and we feel very energized and rejuvenated,” he explained. “I mean, we wanna go [a] long [time]. We hope we can get another 20, 25 years out of Metallica. I don’t know what it’s gonna look like, I don’t know what it’s gonna sound like, but that’s in our heads.”
