The festival has opened its gates today (June 22)

Glastonbury 2022 is finally underway following a two-year delay due to the COVID-19 pandemic – you can check out the final weather forecast for the festival below.

The festival gates opened earlier this morning (June 22), with Glastonbury founder Michael Eavis and organiser Emily Eavis on hand to welcome the first festivalgoers to the site.

Those arriving at Worthy Farm today can expect sunny and dry conditions, with highs of 25° this afternoon

However, according to BBC Weather, light rain showers are then expected from tomorrow afternoon (June 23) through to Glastonbury 2022’s final day on Sunday (June 26).

Wednesday June 22: Sunny and a gentle breeze, with temperatures peaking at 25° and lows of 13°.

Thursday June 23: Light rain showers and a gentle breeze, with temperatures peaking at 22° and lows of 14°. Sunshine in the morning gives way to showers from 3pm.

Friday June 24: Light rain and a moderate breeze, with temperatures peaking at 18° and lows of 11°. A dry, cloudy start gives way to light rain from 2pm.

Saturday June 25: Light rain showers and a moderate breeze, with temperatures peaking at 17° and lows of 10°. Sunny intervals give way to light rain showers from 9am.

Sunday June 26: Light rain showers and a moderate breeze, with temperatures peaking at 17° and lows of 10°. Showers expected early in the morning and from 2pm, before stopping at 8pm.

Festivalgoers who are heading to Worthy Farm today and tomorrow have been advised to make alternative travel arrangements if they’re planning to travel by train, with the second of three national rail strikes in the UK set to take place tomorrow which will severely impact train services.

In other Glastonbury news, The Chemical Brothers’ secret set at this year’s festival has been confirmed by organisers, while George Ezra is also heavily rumoured to be making an unscheduled live appearance at Glastonbury 2022.

Eurovision winners Kalush Orchestra will also perform live at this year’s festival, though The Damned have pulled out after a number of positive COVID-19 tests were recorded in the band’s camp.
