Hockey have a dig at fans’ fashion at Leeds Festival

Portland band still get the Festival Republic crowd dancing

Hockey got the crowd dancing during a short and punchy slot at Leeds Festival today (August 28), despite mocking their fans’ fashion sense.

The Portland, Oregon newcomers’ set on the Festival Republic stage drew a sizable crowd, who were mocked by singer Benjamin Grubin.

Noting the number of people wearing raincoats due to the downpour that hit the site, he remarked: “I don’t think anyone cares about fashion. Who gives a fuck though, fashion’s dumb, man.”

The electro-rockers played a number of tracks from their forthcoming debut album ‘Mind Chaos’ during the set.

Debut single ‘Too Fake’, during which Grubin donned a large red hat, got the biggest cheer from the throng.

The set culminated with ‘Put The Game Down’, which saw Grubin career around the stage before ending the song behind the drums, adding extra percussion.

Hockey played:

‘Work’
‘Learn To Lose’
‘3am Spanish’
‘Song Away’
‘Curse This City’
‘Too Fake’
‘Put The Game Down’
