C'mon, we're talking about an acting role here...

COURTNEY LOVE is to become a serial kidnapper – in the screen adaptation of the novel ’24 HOURS’.

Love will star as the kidnapper in the film adaptation of the Greg Iles book, which is being directed by Luis Mandoki. Other actors confirmed to appear in the film are Stuart Townsend, Charlize Theron and Kevin Bacon.

Speaking about the film role on the official Hole website, [url=], Love said: “I like this part, and it’s a really fertile creative environment with a director who is really spiritual and deep and good with actors so I’m excited.”

Work commenced on the film last week in Vancouver, and as a result, Love will take a break from recording with her new, all-girl punk band Bastard.

Bastard have spent 10 days in the studio and have completed four songs.

Speaking about the recording sessions, Love said: “I can’t wait to get back to this (Bastard). This is the happiest I’ve ever been making music. No boys at all. We’ve written four songs, some excellent stuff – nothing slow or midtempo, everything fast. We wrote a lot of AC/DC-sounding stuff but always, of course, with that Jane’s (Addiction), Led Zeppelin undertone that I’m addicted to and is part of my aesthetic.”

The band features Veruca Salt guitarist Louise Post, ex-Hole drummer Patty Schemel and Gina Crosley of Rockit Girl on bass.

Love said that the other members of Bastard have “exceeded expectations”. She continued: “I am really, really happy with Louise. She’s the only girl other than Kim Deal who can hold a Les Paul and play the fuck out of it.”

When the band finish recording, Bastard plan to undertake a tour.
